About Nicki

As a lifelong resident of northwest Ohio, I was raised in a small town surrounded by family, friends, and neighbors who shaped me into who I am today. Growing up, I experienced the privilege of small-town life, where tending the earth and building a sense of home were woven into the fabric of daily life.

My childhood was filled with the joys of hands-on work—whether, snapping peas, tending the garden or sanding woodwork. My family included homebuilders, gardeners, farmers, cabinet makers, and even award-winning dahlia growers. Our hands were rarely idle, always crafting, creating, connecting with the earth and joyfully sharing their talents with those around them.

From an early age, I was taught to find tranquility in nature. Family camping trips across the country exposed me to the beauty and diversity of our country, from the crystal-clear lakes of northern Michigan to the rocky rivers of Colorado. I learned that being outdoors brings fulfillment and peace. There is immersive joy and wonder to be found in the sound of rustling Aspen leaves, the rich scent of the forest, and the mist from the rolling rivers touching your face.

These childhood memories inspire every design I create. Life today is full and fast-paced, but I believe everyone needs a space to reconnect with nature, to rediscover joy, and to reclaim a sense of wonder. Whether it’s a cozy nook under a tree for a hammock or a stone firepit for evenings with family, my goal is to design spaces that allow you to live your best life, every day.

As I embark on this new chapter with Wild Rabbit Designs, I feel like I’m returning home—back to making, creating, and connecting with the earth. Let me help you craft your own sanctuary, a gateway to peace in your backyard.
